We believe in open source development. We try to do our part in sharing our developments with the world for the betterment of technology and society. Trade secrets are nice, but as scientists, don't we owe it to the world to share our creations? Bear in mind that in the beginning, it is a single individual who is doing the development, and he is an amateur programmer (an electrical engineer by trade and education), so give him a break when you are criticizing his coding skill! He is just a entrepreneur trying to get his business off the ground, and hopes to hire real software engineers in the near future.
If you have any scripts or software to share, please drop us a note (mllott@innoves.com), and we'll post it. Thanks!
Embedded Software Tools
Utility - S19 to Assembler: Converts an S19 file to an ASM file using the BYTE command in assembly language. The original purpose was to use an S19 file generated by an assembler as an include file in a C program - usually for calibrations. The freeware C complier for Freescale HC08 did not offer the ability to specify the location of a variable AND initialize it at the same time, so it was first specified, and then "initialized" in flash with this utility. Use at your own risk! Remember, I am not really a software engineer, just an electrical engineer trying to make a go at being an entrepreneur and develop an embedded fuel injection controller for my business, RipTech Engineering. If you wish to criticize and make your own improvements, I would appreciate knowing what you have done to fix the shortcomings of this software. (My preference would have been to program in Perl, but I was on a test trip with a laptop without Perl, so I used my freeware C compiler from Bloodshed.org. I li9ke practicing C++, anyhow.) Here it is, I hope it helps in your endeavors! We have enjoyed the convenience immensely.
Wishing you the best,
