Wolverine Four-Wheelers and Great Lakes Land Cruisers are two groups in which I actively participate.  Both are four-wheel drive organizations based in Michigan.  I am an automotive hobbyist, concentrating on rebuilding trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles.  Here is a list of some of the projects that I have been working on over the years.

Vehicle Ownership Period
Still Own?
Features and such...
1969 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-55 10/85 to present
Y
Rebuilt engine, restored interior, restored body, mostly stock
1973 Ford E-200 Van 1/89 to 3/90
N
Customized, converted to RV, body restored, never liked it
1987 Isuzu P'up (pickup) 11/89 to 3/96
N
Restored body, customized interior, ran great always
1980 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup 1/90 to 7/97
N
Restored body, restored interior, converted to 4x4 (K-10), rebuilt 350 cid engine, don't know why I sold it
1965 Blue Bird Bus Motorhome 5/95 to 8/98
N
Needed quite a bit of work, sold it and bought a more complete conversion (see below)
1995 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (YJ) 11/95 to present
Y
Stock with 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty
1988 GMC Sierra C-1500 9/96 to 5/97
N
Nothing special, expensive to drive
1959 Willys Jeep CJ-5 1/98 to present
Y
Finished Saginaw steering conversion and 4-wheel disc brakes
Next project - new bumpers, tire rack, jamboree rack, receiver winch mount, re-installing snowplow
1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-55 8/98 to present
Y
Conversion to 6.2L diesel with 3/4-ton drivetrain in the near future
1990 Chevrolet K-1500 Suburban (4x4) 9/98 to 12/01
N
Excellent tow vehicle, except for the 700R4 transmission. Really strong TBI 350 cid (5.7L) V8, heavy-duty suspension, now equipped with 33x10.50x15 All-Terrin BFGs. Originally a Stony Creek Metropark truck, now retired to a leisurely civilian life. Fresh paint job, thanks to Craig's F-1 body shop in Hadley, Michigan. A real beauty!
1984 AMC Jeep Cherokee Pioneer 8/00 to present
Y
Owned by our family since 1984, I installed a Buick 200 V6 around 1991
1972 Blue Bird Coach 8/00 to present
Y
35' motorhome - Ford 391 Gas V8, 5-speed manual trans, 2-speed differential, air brakes.  Finally found a Diesel - International T444E (7.3 V8 DI Turbo). This will be a fun project to stuff it into the bus!
1957 International S-120 4x4 Pickup 5/01 to present
Y
3/4-ton International Pickup with factory 4-wheel drive, 200 cid Black Diamond engine. I am the third owner, the first being the Otter Lake, Michigan fire department. This truck is due for a ground-up restoration in the next few years. The engine is original, with probably less than 80,000 miles, so the only work there is to detail it. This is the old classic pickup that I had been searching for!
2002 GMC Sierra K-3500 11/01 to present
Y
1-ton Duallie, Duramax 6.6L diesel, Allison 5-speed automatic transmission. I finally got a truck big enough to handle the trailer - this is the one I had been waiting for as long as I can remember! I am in love.

"Non-Trucks..."

Vehicle Ownership Period
Still Own?
Features and such...
1983 Chevrolet Chevette 7/97 to present
Y
Good for salty Michigan winters (obviously not a truck)
1999 John Deere GT235 Tractor 6/99 to present
Y
OK, so it's not a truck, but it cost almost as much!

Interesting concepts - just for fun...
